About the Speakers
Peter has an MSc and PhD in Psychology and Educational Sciences, and has worked with people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and their families for more than 30 years. Founder of “Autism in Context” and senior lecturer at Autisme Centraal, Peter is an internationally-respected speaker and trainer who presents all over Europe and beyond. Peter has written more than 15 books and several articles on autism, and received a Life Time Achievement Award in 2019 for his 30 plus years of work in the field of autism.
Professor Andrew McDonnell
BSc., MSc., PhD. Consultant Clinical Psychologist to and Director of Studio III Clinical Services. Director, clinical consultant and Team Leader to Studio III Training; formerly Clinical Psychologist to Monyhull Hospital Birmingham. Andrew has particular interest in the design of community settings for people who challenge. He has extensive experience of working with service users with a learning disability and/or autism who self-harm.
Gareth D. Morewood
Gareth D Morewood is the Educational Advisor for Studio 3. Previously he has worked for 25 years in U.K. schools; the last 17 of which were as SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) in a large, inclusive secondary school in the North West of England. Gareth has extensive ‘front-line’ experience supporting schools, families and working directly with young people in the U.K. and abroad; most recently Chile, Dubai, Portugal, Scandinavia and Ireland.
David has over 25 years experience working with children and adults with complex and challenging behaviours and the families and carers of these children. In addition to his work as a fully qualified psychotherapist David has undertaken additional postgraduate training in child, behavioural and clinical psychological approaches.
David Jones is a consultant Clinical psychologist, with over 20 years of practitioner experience. He has practical experience of a variety of populations including, children with emotional and behavioural disorders, older adults, autism. His specialist interests are varied and include: challenging behaviour, autism, ADHD and dyslexia.
